INSTANT HOME
Well almost!
A relocatable home, being built for charity, was recently the building target of a team of volunteers.
The home, located on Ngahue Drive, in Stonefields, opposite the Remuera Golf Course, is a project to raise money for three charities supported by the Rotary Club of Auckland East.
These charities are, the Life Education Trust, The Leukaemia and Blood Foundation and The Motor Neurone Association of New Zealand.
Led by a team of specialists from G.J. Gardner homes, assisted by a group of Rotarians, the team arrived on site to erect the home in record time.
From a 9am start, it was evident that the wall framing was going up in very quick time indeed and the brief tea break was a welcome relief.
The recommencement saw work at a frantic pace, and when Harold the Giraffe from the Life Education Trust arrived to view progress, the four walls were up.
Pru Etcheverry, CEO of the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation also came to offer support, as a beneficiary of this joint project between Rotary and G.J.Gardner Homes, who have donated much of the labour.
Without any shortcuts being taken , the skilled team raised and erected the roof trusses before the midday target time, and a cheer went up to signify this milestone in the charity project.
Potential bidders at the auction of this relocatable home are welcome to visit the site in Ngahue Drive, and and dates for an open home will be notified shortly on this site.
The Auction date is Sunday 26 April, 2009 and will be conducted by RAY WHITE LIMITED.
Prospective bidders need to have a suitable site for the new home, and also need to have appropriate consents in place, including relocation arrangements.
More information is available from the G.J.Gardner website www.gjgardner.co.nz while the 0800 45 42 73 number will also provide data.
The Rotary Club of Auckland East would welcome any new furniture or fittings for the home from businesses or members of the public and Club President Rae Ah Chee is confident of all three charities benefitting significantly from the project.
