NEW GENERATIONS PROJECTS BREAKTHOUGH TO EXCELENCE
A personal development programme for young adults designed to enable them to move effectively through this critical time of growth. RYPEN 14-16 March 2008
This Rotary Youth Programme of Enrichment is a residential weekend seminar for 14-18 year old students. The focus is on self development, helping young people to form their own values and moral standards and to broaden their horizons culturally and socially. Hosted by St Johns Club, our club contact is Sue Clark re nominations.
CHALLENGE
This programme promotes personal development of young people who share similar physical challenging disabilities, with the support of International Youth Exchange students who act as buddies for the participants. This live-in camp caters for 25 young disabled, aged between 16 and 24. Venue in 2008 is Willow Park and the event involves clubs from 9910 and 9920 with Auckland East providing some committee members.
MUNA
The purpose of this programme is to have school teams of year 12 and 13 students simulate the workings of the United Nations Assembly. The outcome will include students improving their public speaking and debating skills and making informed comments on world issues The venue is Auckland Girls Grammar and we will seek nominations from colleges in the Rotary Club of Auckland East area. This residential seminar targets 18-24 year olds who have evidenced leadership qualities and who will benefit from balanced programme of lectures and discussion groups over five days.
INTERNATIONAL YOUTH EXCHANGE (Inbound and Oubound)The opportunity to experience life in another country for a year is a unique programme for young secondary pupils. RYPEN
